MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A woman is under arrest accused of shooting her live-in boyfriend during a dispute that turned deadly.

Markeita Davis, 31, is in custody facing second degree murder charges.

Miami-Dade Police said they responded a call about shots fired in a Miami home on Saturday just before 3 a.m.

When they got there, they found 40-year old Frazier Taurus suffering from gunshot wounds.

Crews rushed Taurus to Ryder Trauma Center where he later died from his injuries.

Officers said Davis and Taurus had gotten into a verbal dispute after Davis was involved in a car accident earlier in the evening.

Due to the accident, a tow truck had to deliver the car to the home.

That's when, police said, the argument escalated and Davis pulled out a gun and shot Taurus.

Officers said Davis had left the scene but later came back.

Investigators were able to recover a gun.
