Peter King Has 3 Miami Hurricanes in the 1st Round

WQAM

With 2015 NFL Mock Drafts on their last legs with the draft days away, Peter King's latest is interesting for Miami fans -- he projects three Miami Hurricanes will be drafted in the first round.

The Sports Illustrated and MMQB fixture is arguably the most notable NFL writer in the business. King has Ereck Flowers going 10th by St. Louis, Phillip Dorsett 16th to Houston, and Denzel Perryman 30th to Green Bay.

The last Cane drafted in the first round was Kenny Phillips back in 2008. The last time the Hurricanes featured multiple first rounders was in 2007 when Brandon Meriweather, Jon Beason, and Greg Olsen all got their name called in the opening round.

Other Canes expected to go in the early rounds are Duke Johnson and Clive Walford.

If two or three get drafted in the first round, as King projects, would it be a prime recruiting tool for Al Golden or another reason to rehash the team's 6-7 record last season? Regardless, it's clear last year's roster was oozing with top-level talent.
