MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Florida Senator Marco Rubio's big announcement that he will run for the presidency in 2016 made headline news across the state and the nation.

CBS4's Natalia Zea took a closer look at the headlines the day after Rubio announced his candidacy.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel showed Marco Rubio some love on its front page, with a big color photo of him smiling and shaking hands with supporters front and center.

Compare that to the Miami Herald's front page, Rubio's hometown paper, which displayed a much smaller photo below the fold. The headline reads "Candidate Rubio Calls Upon New Conservative Generation."

Spanish language partner El Nuevo Herald displayed two pictures of Rubio on the front page, including one with the Senator's photogenic wife and four kids. The headline in Spanish is "Marco Rubio Presents Himself as the Candidate of the Future."

Just up the road the Palm Beach Post also featured a nice family pic and showed fans in the event's overflow area, which was also peppered with booing protestors.

Over in Naples, the Naples Daily News' headline read "'Our Country Has Always Been About the Future,'" a quote from Rubio's announcement speech.

The Tampa Tribune was quite focused on Rubio. The picture alone takes nearly half of the front page. The headline read "Rubio Runs, Stresses Youth."

"Rubio Proclaims a New Generation," reads the Tampa Bay Times.

The Orlando Sentinel headline: "Rubio Campaign Plan- 21st Century Ideals"

The Tallahassee Democrat didn't give Rubio much attention. They featured former Florida Governor Jeb Bush as the main picture, with Rubio garnering a little square pic below the fold right above Hilary Clinton.

The national papers took note of the Senator's presidential ambitions. The New York Times front page headline read, "Stressing Youth, Rubio Joins Field." The Washington Post front page read, "Rubio Dismisses Leaders of the Past."

"Rubio Enters Crowded Field," was the headline on the Wall Street Journal front page.

Given that Rubio is Cuban-American, we checked the online version of Granma, the Cuban government's official newspaper. There is no mention of the aspiring Rubio on the main page, though in world section there is an article with pictures about Rubio and Hilary Clinton's running for office.

Cuban dissident blogger Yoani Sanchez' online newspaper CATORCE-Y-MEDIO features on its main page a picture and an article about the senator, born to Cuban parents, who is seeking to hold the highest office in the United States.
