HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Easter morning blossomed in breathtaking style as celebrants and followers  flocked to the beach in Hollywood.

Back on land, service after service was full at St. Patrick Catholic Church – one of the most popular Catholic Churches on Miami Beach.

From around the world pilgrims journeyed to the Vatican in Rome to celebrate mass with Pope Francis.

A light but steady downpour did not dissuade the followers.

The pope emphasized an international message of concern calling for peace in regions rocked by terror.

"We ask Jesus, the victor over death, to lighten the sufferings of our many brothers and sisters who are persecuted for his name, and of all those who suffer injustice as a result of ongoing conflicts and violence - and there are many," he said.

He went on to speak about not forget those living on the margins of life.

In the end, the message of the day shared by Christians: celebrating the resurrection of their savior Jesus Christ.
