MIAMI (CBSMiami) - If you've got an overdue traffic ticket from Miami-Dade, or an overdue parking ticket for that matter, you'll be getting a break this month.

From Monday, April 13th through the 17th, the county's Clerk's office is taking part in Operation Green Light. During that time period, anyone with a traffic ticket, parking ticket or criminal fines, or fees, assigned to a collection agency can pay the charges in full without having to pay the collection fee.

"Many people in Miami-Dade County have overdue tickets in collections and therefore have had their driver's licenses suspended," said Clerk Harvey Ruvin in a statement. "Operation Green Light is a chance for people to pay their fines without paying the collections charge and restore their driving privileges so they can legally drive again."

It's important to note that while the collection charges will be waived, late fees will not.

Payments can be made in person at the Clerk's Office from Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Payments can also be made online or over the phone for traffic and parking tickets.

Payments can be made by check, money order, credit card or cash.
