Karen Bonilla's business idea, an app that visually explains epilepsy to small children, won the 2014 National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship assisted Bonilla with her idea.

On Monday Bonilla, along with several other students from across the country, was honored during the fifth annual White House Science Fair.

Bonilla's app, called Lepsy's App, was born after her little sister came home from school traumatized after witnessing a classmate have an epileptic seizure. Bonilla found that, when trying to explain epilepsy to her sister, she struggled to get the concept across.

The app visually explains epilepsy, its symptoms and causes, in a kid-friendly way.
