Boat Slams Into Seawall, Two Injured

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) - A 25-foot boat ran into a seawall Friday morning sending two people to the hospital.

The incident happened around 10 AM on the east side of the Coast Guard base.

Both boaters, a male and a female, were transported by Miami Beach Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

The female is reported to be in critical condition. The male is stable, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard released surveillance video which captures the boat, at full speed, come to a stop when it crashes into the seawall.

People are seen running to the wall where the crash happened.

"Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of these two boaters", said Capt. Benjamin Davis commanding officer Base Miami Beach in a press release. "Coast Guard responders from the base were on scene almost immediately, and began providing first aid on both victims before they were transported to the hospital"

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is leading the investigation
