MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Part Italian market, part bistro and wine store, "Made in Italy Gourmet" is a wonderful new space in the heart of Wynwood that feels a world away.

When owner Pietro Morelli opened the space in early April with his business partner, their seven year dream was realized.

"Everything is brought from Italy. We did a big effort. We had a vision to create a place all made in Italy. It's not a restaurant. It's an experience," Morelli said.

An experience that begins in the market with items you would only find in specific regions of Italy. They are treasures brought in for customers to taste and try.

Then there's the bistro where guests order at the counter and sit to enjoy light fare.

"We only have cold dishes. We have cold cuts and salads and sandwiches. It's something you grab and go," he explained.

This 3,500 square foot former warehouse is both elegant and casual but most of all fun.

There is a wine library where diners can sample wines in all price ranges and categories.

"We cover most of the regions from Italy. We have 100 producers from small wine boutique to big producers that are very famous" said Sergio Russo, the manager and sommelier.

CBS4's Lisa Petrillo's first taste was a white wine from Sicily, followed by a special sandwich featuring 24 month aged prosciutto ham with fresh mozzarella.

"I'm in Tuscany at a wonderful gourmet market with warm soothing prosciutto and the cheese in the middle with the flat thin bread, it's a sandwich to die for," Petrillo said.

Next was an Italian cheese called Tomino wrapped in speck with mushrooms.

"I had no idea it was going to taste like this. It has mushrooms and speck that gives it a salty flavor and the smooth creamy center. It's a dessert," said Petrillo.

Then there is the awesome Amelia salad. It's arugula with fresh ricotta, fennel and orange slices tossed with a lemon vinaigrette.

"The bitterness with the arugula and the citrus from the orange and the sweet of the cheese. Heavenly," said Petrillo.

"Made in Italy Gourmet" is truly an homage to all things Italian! "Made in Italy Gourmet" is opened 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
