Dragic: Heat Fans Are 'Unbelievable,' Among NBA's Best

Interviews-wqam

Since the Dragon flew to Miami after getting traded from Phoenix a couple weeks back, Heat fans have fully embraced their new starting point guard and his passionate, attacking style of play.

Thankfully for Heat Nation, Goran Dragic pegged the love as reciprocal on the Marc Hochman Show with Zach Krantz yesterday.

"It's unbelievable," Dragic said on WQAM. "I'm so happy to be part of this organization, to be part of this city. The fans are some of the best fans in the NBA.

"I felt that last night when we played against the Suns. They were cheering from the first minute to the last minute of the game."

Miami blasted Phoenix 115-98 in a game packed with vicious fouls, technicals, a brief heavyweight fight, and ejections, while Dragic magically compiled 21 points in just 15 minutes.

His teammates stepped up while the guard battled foul trouble and a frightening takedown late in the third quarter. Asked about what it's like to play with a proven star like Dwyane Wade and a rising two-way force in Hassan Whiteside, Dragic expressed how much fun it is.

"It makes my basketball so much easier because those guys -- they're are making us better," he said. "With D-Wade, everybody is so concentrated on stopping him I have a lot more space to operate.

"Whiteside, he is such a dominant center that he's going to get 20 rebounds in a game, he's going to seal the paint, he's going to get seven, eight blocks and he can score. Those two guys are unbelievable."

Averaging 15.0 points and 4.7 assists on 50-percent shooting in six games with Miami, Dragic has a player option for next season, but he's "hoping" to be in a Heat uniform for a long time.

Up next for Dragic and the Heat is a home game against the 16-win Lakers tonight.
