Woman Found Stabbed Inside Miami Home

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Police are investigating the death of a woman found stabbed inside a home on Tuesday.
Authorities showed up to the home located at 200 Southwest 55th Avenue just before 3:00 p.m.
Once they were inside, they found 51-year old Elba Alvarez with an apparent stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
"It was a rather gruesome scene.From what I understand. She was stabbed several times," said Sgt. Freddie Cruz with Miami Police.
Detectives said the motive for the stabbing is unknown but they think it may be over a domestic issue.
As of Tuesday evening, a person of interest was in police custody but they are asking anyone that knows anything to come forward.
"It's still a puzzle that we are putting together. We're asking neighbors or anyone that may have heard something or seen something to please come forward and help our investigators out," said Sgt. Cruz.
