MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A 34-year-old woman was arrested Monday after police say she threw a baby out of the car during a routine traffic stop.

Monique Miller was arrested at 2355 NE 163rd Street around 4:22 pm Monday.

Miller, according to the arrest report, refused to stop at first. Once stopped, the passenger fled and Miller reportedly began yelling obscenities, acting hostile towards the officer.

Police said Miller refused when she was asked to calm down.

Miller had a baby on her lap and then, according to the report, decided to throw the baby out of the car.

The officer was able to grab the baby.

Miller, police say, was resisting arrest and clenched her fist. The officer then told her to get on the ground.

While getting into the car, Miller kicked the police car's door which caused the officer to get hit in the head, according to police.

Miller was arrested and taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
