TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) — The Department of Children and Families is giving away 2,000 wearable blankets to families to try and prevent unsafe sleeping deaths.

Parents often put a baby to bed with a loose blanket that can cover a baby's face and interfere with breathing.

In 2013, DCF launched a campaign to educate families about sleeping deaths.

The campaign aims to increase public awareness that the safest way for babies to sleep is alone on their backs in a crib.
