Man Accused Of Slapping Grocery Store Bag Boy In Face

DR. PHILLIPS, Fla. (CBSMiami) – Orange County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man they said slapped a Publix employee in the face.

Police say a customer confronted an 18-year-old bag boy when the employee was walking back into the store and spit on the ground.

"That person felt that this person tried to spat upon him and for whatever reason, this guy slapped the bag boy in the face without justification," Orange County Sheriff's Corporal Dave Burdick told WKMG-TV.

Burdick said the attack was a senseless crime.

"We're not sure if he is going to accost other people in the area and commit other crimes of violence against other citizens in the Dr. Phillips area for no reason," Burdick told WKMG.

The suspect is described as an older white male in his forties and is about 6 feet tall. Police feel the suspect could possibly be homeless.

If convicted, the suspect could face up to a year in prison.
