MIAMI (CBSMiami) - In this edition of "Women To Watch," Trend Tracker® Tara Gilani tracked down Ocean Drive magazine's assistant editor Julia Ford-Carther.

The two powerhouses bonded over coffee and cupcakes at Books & Books in Coral Gables, the perfect place to have a conversation with a Stanford graduate. As the magazine's assistant editor, she's as plugged in to style and society as it gets. Sounds glam but hers is not an easy job. Amazingly, she makes it look effortless.

"I do all the shot-on-site section, all our monthly event photos which is 15 pages an issue, I oversee our interns, I help with assignments, I top edit and then I have my own assignments that I do every month as well," said Ford-Carther.

Ford-Carther is dedicated to women's issues and to female empowerment. Brava!

"I always knew I wanted to get into media and be a part of media and help shape the mainstream message that consumers read, specifically female focused, so I've done beauty, I've done fashion, fashion, I've done wellness," said Ford-Carther.

The world is her oyster and she appreciates every pearl.

"Ocean Drive has allowed me opportunity and access that I would not get with any other job, plain and simple," said Ford-Carther.

She's not just an editor at a high powered magazine, she's also a dating and relationships expert known as "The Thinking Man's Pin Up."

"I've always been the go-to for my friends when it comes to dating advice," she said. "It got to the point where I wanted my next channel, my next female-focused channel and so dating and relationships made sense."

From the website to her blog to social media, "The Thinking Man's Pin Up" is the thinking woman's best friend.

"What I wanted to do with it was modernize it and come from a place of self love and self confidence.
I'm actually expanding the site. I'm creating a new platform called the "Self Love Formula" and that's going to include the "Thinking Man's Pin Up" content, beauty and fashion," said Ford-Carther. "To me, beauty, fashion and love are universal languages so when you're trying to reach a large audience of females, those are probably your best bets."

Watch out all you thinking men. When asked if there are any out there, "I'm trying to find them," laughed Ford-Carther.

In a lightening round of questions, typically asked to all women featured in Gilani's Women to Watch, Ford-Carther answered without hesitation "I am fearless. I promise to be true. I won't compromise. I will never back down. I want everything."
