Police: Child Beaten, Put In Dumpster By Uncle

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Miami Beach Police said a child was beaten and put in a dumpster by her uncle.

Officers said the uncle, Jesus Crys, 30, and his 9-year old niece got into an argument on Wednesday evening.

That's when,Crys allegedly took her outside, hit her several times then asked her to get into the dumpster.

Police said the girl was taken to Mt.Sinai Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The child refers to Crys as her father and he has full custody of her.

The Department of Children and Families has been notified.

As of Wednesday evening, officers said the investigation into the incident was ongoing.

Police said Crys was placed in custody. Charges are pending per the investigation.
