Tannehill: "No Chance" I'm Pulling For Patriots

Interviews-wqam

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is only three years into his Miami Dolphins career but already fully comprehends South Florida's intense hatred for the New England Patriots.

"Gotta go with the Seahawks, no way I'm going with the Patriots," Tannehill said on The Big O Show on WQAM. "Can't do it. Division opponent.

"There's no chance I'm ever going to root for New England."

As conversation redirected towards Tannehill's play, the receiver-turned-quarterback is confident his game is continuing to improve after a stellar statistical season.

"I think I made some strides this year," Tannehill said. "Obviously this was a growing year for me, getting comfortable in the new offense.

"Now it's just a matter of playing at that high level week in and week out and not just a four-game stretch or a five-game stretch."

He threw for 4,045 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions this year, all career highs. Asked about Miami's weakness throwing deep, Tannehill placed heavy emphasis on practicing explosive plays in the offseason, and that they "just have to make more plays."
