Deadly Shooting In Miami Overnight

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Police are taking over the investigation into a shooting that left two people dead overnight.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers got a call at about 3 a.m. Saturday of a car going south on I-95 near the State Road 112 exit, riddled with bullets.

"We do have several witnesses that called in saying that one of the persons were crawling out of the vehicle," said Trooper Joe Sanchez.

When authorities arrived, they found one man outside of the vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center where he later died.

Another man was found dead in the passenger seat.

FHP has passed the investigation over to Miami Police because troopers say there is no evidence that shows the shooting took place on the Highway.

"We don't know exactly where the shooting took place but they did end up here on I-95,"said Sanchez.

They believe the shooting happened in Miami city limits.

The identities of the two people have not been released.

Officers are still searching for the shooter or shooters.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471- TIPS.
