"When this boat came without any lights coming south and hit is on the side," said Marco Telles, the boat's operator.

Telles said four adults and three kids were on his boat.

"These guys are very irresponsible. They hit and ran. We told them to follow us to the marina. We had kids on board," said Telles. "And they just ignored it and they hit and ran."

Telles added the boat appeared to be about 30-feet long with a dark blue hull.

According to Miami Fire Rescue officials, the children aboard the boat had some bumps and bruises and the damages were minor.

All of the children were wearing life vests.

The boat the hit the family was speeding, authorities stated to CBS4 News.
