MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The boyfriend of a Miami mother who is accused of beating her 8-year-old son on several occasions and killing their one-month-old English bulldog puppy in front of him is speaking out, saying she has a history of problems because of her temper.

He said he can not believe that she took the like of the puppy.

"That's like a human being. You don't do that to a little animal. It's just a puppy," said the boyfriend. "What kind of person are you?"

That boyfriend did not want to show all of his face but in an exclusive interview with CBS4's Peter D'Oench, he provided some chilling and disturbing details about what happened inside his home at 360 N.W. 58th Ave.

"I feel horrible about this. I feel horrible," he said. "I am a single father."

He said he called Miami Police to their home on Tuesday when his girlfriend, 26-year-old Charlotte Wonjah, attacked him and his 14-year-old daughter.

He told D'Oench that his 14-year-old daughter from a previous marriage and their two 2-year-old daughter and her 8-year-old son were in the home at the time.

"My girlfriend just went ballistic and started hitting me, biting me and punching me and then my 14-year-old daughter tried to intervene, you know to pacify the situation. She punched my daughter and threw her against the wall. That's when I called the police. At that time that's when I found out about her 8-year-old son who she had been abusing too," said the boyfriend.

A police report said the boy had "bruises, welts and markings" on his body.

"According to him, she put him in the bathroom and hit him with a hangar and beat him with a hangar. Previous to that, he said she beat him with a rope. She has some serious issues to get rid of. She needs some help and some counseling and to stay away from kids until she get better or she is going to hurt them," he said.

Wonjah is charged with child abuse with great bodily harm and animal abuse. Her boyfriend said she is four months pregnant and said they are expecting a son.

The boyfriend said when police were called to the home on Tuesday, they also learned that Wonjah had killed the puppy. A police report says Wonjah repeatedly slammed the puppy against a wall and says Wonjah admitted to having anger problems and said she was angry that the puppy had gone to the bathroom.

"She beat the puppy because he went poop in a corner of the house and she took the puppy and threw it on the floor and when the puppy got up to walk, he acted strange and so she hit again and slammed his head down in the middle of the street and killed him," he said. "It was my daughter's puppy. I feel like she has no feelings."

Records show Wonjah, who is from Liberia in Africa, has been arrested twice before for battery in April 2013 and August 2013.

The boyfriend said she had attacked him another time in August 2013 and was on probation until this past August for the attack.

"This is not the first time this happened," he said. "There are no words to describe this. This is something else. I stayed with her because I wanted to give it a chance for my kids. I do not want them to be raised by another man. It's all for my kids, my kids. Now I want to get my daughters back. I need my daughters back."

The boyfriend said at a hearing on Wednesday, a Judge agreed to give the Department of Children and Families (DCF) temporary custody, pending another hearing on January 15th.

"They did a home study of my house and I want them back," he said. "I am a good Dad. This is not my fault. I am the victim."

Wonjah came before a judge in bond court on New Year's Day.

She is being held pending another hearing on Friday.
