MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The new year means new life for some South Florida families.

A baby born at Jackson Memorial Hospital at exactly midnight marks the first delivery in Miami-Dade County in 2015.

Addison Beatrice was born 19.2 inches long weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz.

Her parents say she was due on the 4th and they didn't think she'd arrive early.

"They were like can you hold it until midnight. She stuck around," mother Arielle Larkin said.

This is the second child for parents Arielle Larkin and Daniel Davila.

"When she did the last push it was like twelve and three seconds when she came out," Davila explained of his daughter's arrival.

The parents didn't know what to expect when their daughter was born just as the clock struck midnight.

"All the nurses came in with rattles celebrating," Larkin said.

"There was like 20 people partying when she was born," Davila added.

Both mom and baby are happy and healthy and will be heading home Saturday.

Little Addison Beatrice will share her birthday with a set of triplets born at South Miami Hospital at 12:45 am Thursday.

Mark Thompson and his wife welcomed their daughters via c-section more than a month and a half ahead of schedule.

Emma, Alexa and Jenna are doing well.

"The minutes after the new year was amazing," Thompson said. "Just the fact that they were healthy little girls, that's really all that mattered at the time."

The Thompsons are from the Cayman Islands and came to Miami specifically to deliver their daughters.

Mount Sanai Medical Center reported their first baby of the New Year was born at the hospital at 6:40 a.m.

Prince Leon Hearns was born at 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. His parents are Patrick Hearns and Shatrerra Nelson.

At North Shore Medical Center in Miami, Vernes Bartley  and Shalanda Twiggs welcomed their baby girl Vernesia Bartley.
