TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) - As 2014 comes to a close, state's department of consumers services has released its list of Top 10 consumer complaints for the year.

All in all, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said they received more than 44,000 complaints in the last year.

Coming in at number one as the top complaint was violating the state's Do Not Call list; 18,067 complaints. It is interesting to note that this year there was a 4 percent decrease in Do Not Call complaints. The decrease in complaints may be contributed to the agency's increased enforcement efforts over the past two years, which have resulted in the collection of more than $430,000 in administrative fines.

Coming in at number two were complaints over fuel prices (2,193) followed by complaints over cable service (1,921 complaints). Rounding out the top five were complaints about telemarketing and motor vehicle sales.

To file a complaint or to find information about businesses and professionals, consumers can call the department's consumer protection and information hotline at 1-800-HELP-FLA (435-7352).
