Third Suspect Charged In Lauderdale Murder, Cover Up

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A third arrest has been made in murder of a Ft. Lauderdale man whose body was found in a burning building in the Broadview Park neighborhood earlier this year.

On August 2nd, Broward Sheriff's firefighters arrived at a duplex fire at 4102 SW 18th Court just after 8 a.m. and found the found Eber Dagherto Lucero unconscious in one of the home's bedrooms. Lucero had been stabbed multiple times.

Investigators were able to identify three men involved in the crime, according to the sheriff's office. Gerardo Lemus, 23, and Staling Davis Zabala, 28, were arrested on November 17 on warrants for their part in the Lucero death.

Steve Pierre, 24, was tracked down by BSO's SWAT Fugitive Squad and taken into custody on December 22. He faces a charge of first degree murder with no bond.

Pierre has an extensive arrest history with nine previous arrests since 2005. His prior charges include: robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, violation of probation and possession of cannabis and cocaine.
