FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami/AP) — The Seminole Tribe of Florida scored a major victory in court on Monday after a Broward judge dismissed most of a lawsuit brought against them which sought $250 million in damages.

The tribe said Monday that Circuit Judge Carlos Rodriguez dismissed all of Mobile Mike Media Group's claims against the tribe itself and most of the claims against individuals named in the lawsuit.

Mobile Mike contended the tribe contracted with it in 2011 to handle advertising, promotion and events, but then reneged on the deal and directed the business to a tribal member.

Tribe attorney Michael S. Popok says he will appeal in an effort to get the remaining claims dismissed.

The lawsuit filed in January contended the tribal member was wrongly awarded the business after her brother was elected to the Seminole Tribe's board.
