Two Miami Hurricanes Projected as First-Round Picks

The Miami Hurricanes might've finished the regular season at a lackluster 6-6, but ESPN draft guru Todd McShay projects two Miami players to have their name called in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

According to his most recent mock draft, McShay has junior offensive tackle Ereck Flowers going 12th to the Rams and senior linebacker Denzel Perryman headed to the Broncos with the 32nd pick. The Canes haven't had a player selected in the first round since 2008 when safety Kenny Phillips was drafted 31st by the New York Giants. They haven't had a top 15 pick since 2005 when Antrel Rolle got snatched up by the Cardinals at 8th overall.

Flowers has not made his intentions for next year clear with another year of eligibility remaining while Perryman has clearly raised his draft stock by returning for his senior year after receiving a third-round grade last year. He was runner-up for the 2014 Butkus Award, given to the top linebacker in the nation.

Other Miami players who figure to be high picks include junior running back Duke Johnson, senior tight end Clive Walford, and senior receiver Phillip Dorsett. None of the juniors have made their intentions known just yet with the Independence Bowl against South Carolina on deck, set for December 27 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The top two projected picks are Oregon's Marcus Mariota going first to to Tampa Bay and Florida State' Jameis Winston going second to Tennessee.
