Report: Josh McRoberts Will Require Surgery, Out Indefinitely

Already decimated by injuries, the Miami Heat received another blow today with the team announcing Josh McRoberts is out indefinitely with a right lateral meniscus tear, a possible season-ending injury.

McRoberts will need surgery after an MRI revealed the severity of his injury on Monday morning. He had already missed seven games due to an assortment of injuries, and was averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the floor and 42 percent from the 3-point line in 17 games this season.

The news comes after McRoberts appeared to be getting comfortable of late with his new teammates, averaging 12.0 points and 6.0 assists over his last two games before being sidelined in the middle of Miami's recent road trip out west.

The Heat also say Chris Bosh will miss Tuesday's game at Brooklyn with a strained calf, and Dwyane Wade may miss the Nets game as well because of illness. The team also recalled guard Shabazz Napier and center Hassan Whiteside from the Sioux Falls Skyforce from the NBA Development League.
