Parents Of Boys Hurt In Hit And Run Crash Search Community For Leads

DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) – The parents of two boys injured in a hit and run in Dania Beach passed out flyers in the streets Monday night to search for the driver responsible for the crash.
"If you see this vehicle, could you please call 493-TIPS," said Selena Brown.

Kelvron Florence, 14, and Apollo Brown Jr., 8, were struck at 100 Bryan Road just before 7 p.m. Monday October 8th, officials said.
The flyers have an updated reward amount of up to $5,500 and images of the hit-and-run vehicle.
An anonymous donor has contributed $2,500 to the Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.

The boys' grandmother said she was going to pick the boys up from a basketball game at Attucks Middle School, Florence's school, but had a flat tire. While she was waiting to borrow her neighbor's car, the boys decided to walk home—that's when they got hit.
The boys are still in critical condition.
Family members said the boys were hooked up to breathing tubes and are fighting to survive.
The oldest boy, Kelvron is improving. He has opened his eyes.
Apollo Jr. remains unconscious.
"I know there is someone out there, I know y'all are not getting any sleep, y'all are looking at them every time y'all close y'all eyes. Just please come forward and turn yourself in," added Brown. "I have two innocent boys that didn't deserve this."
"We got plenty of people praying for us and we are so thankful for those people because because I know that one day i will walk out of this hospital with my kids," said Apollo Brown, the boys' father.
Detectives said the vehicle is 2012 to 2015 Metallic grey Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
Investigators found several pieces of the car at the scene that could be critical evidence in the case including the trucks grille emblem, a piece of the bumper and shattered head light.
Detectives said an after-the-fact witness saw the Toyota fleeing the scene and alerted police.
BSO said detectives met with Toyota employees from a local dealership to determine the make of the car that hit the boys, using the pieces left behind.
