MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A 17-year-old is recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital after he was among five people shot in a drive-by shooting Sunday night.

Julian Bryant's father told CBS4 News that his son nicknamed "Juju" was shot in the leg and arm.

"I just got out of work.  I came out here," said Horace Bryant.  "They said he got shot so I came out here. He's talking right now.  That's good.  That's a good sign."

Bryant's family said Juju's gone through a lot in his young life as he lost three of his closest relatives.

"He lost my aunt.  He lost my auntie.  He lost my grandma," said Erica Holt, Bryant's aunt.

Juju's father said he has no idea why someone would shoot his son.

"He was hanging in the wrong place at the wrong time.  That's all I could see it could be," said Bryant.

The teenager's family hopes the community can help find who is responsible.

"Can you guys please give us some answers and tell us what's going on?  Who is the person that shot, just please give us some answers.  We're begging you guys."

If anyone has information call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
