Former TigerDirect President Accepts Plea Deal In Fraud Case

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – Carl Fiorentino, the former president of TigerDirect, accepted a guilty plea Tuesday for tax evasion and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

Carl Fiorentino, 57, and his brother Gilbert Fiorentino, 54, worked as senior executives at Systemax Inc. and its TigerDirect Inc. unit.

In November, the two Coral Gables brothers were charged in federal court with scheming to obtain $9 million in kickbacks and other benefits and to hide their ill-gotten gains from the Internal Revenue Service.

As reported by CBS4's news partner the Miami Herald, the two were charged by separate criminal informations with conspiracy and tax offenses.

Carl Fiorentino faces a maximum of 25 years for his charges. He will be sentenced on February 10th, 2015.

There has been no word on Gilbert Fiorentino's plan or sentencing date.
