Moore was last seen traveling on foot east of I-95 near Broward Boulevard.  A traffic nightmare ensued, and several schools were on lockdown, as authorities searched for the suspect.

The shooting occurred at 219 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard Tuesday morning.

According to the FBI, a police officer was flagged down regarding an armed carjacking, a Suzuki, around 8 am that occurred 1500 block of West Sunrise Boulevard.

The armed suspect, according to the FLPD, ordered an adult female to drive her car to I-95. The suspect then ordered the victim and her young son to exit the vehicle.

Police said the suspect fled southbound on I-95 to an area in the City of Dania Beach where there was another carjacking. The suspect then fled south to Hallandale.

In Hallandale, around 8:30 am, there were two people, a male and female, inside a car, according to Hallandale Beach Fire division Chief Lori Williams.

According to Hallandale Beach Police, the woman is believed to be the suspect's ex-girlfriend.

The suspect, according to police, started shooting then pulled the woman out of the car and started to beat her. The male inside the car ran across the street to a medical center to get help and call for the police.

Both the man and woman were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. The woman is believed to be in critical condition. The man subsequently died from his wounds.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Between 8:30 am and 8:45 am the suspect attempted but failed to carjack two vehicles. He then successfully carjacked a third vehicle, a silver Mercedes, on I-95 North near Pembroke Road.
At about 8:50 am, he successfully carjacked a third vehicle, a silver Mercedes, on I-95 North near Pembroke Road, according to the FBI.
At 9 am, the suspect was involved in a single vehicle accident on I-95 North near Broward Blvd (on the on ramp).

The suspect then went back on I-95 then bailed out on foot on Broward Boulevard.

FLPD and police dogs searched the area with the assistance of Broward Sheriff's Office.

New information emerged late Tuesday that less than 72 hours before Moore allegedly wreaked havoc, Moore was in handcuffs on a gun charge in Lauderhill early Sunday morning. Police there are also calling him a person of interest in a shooting in their city.

"Gregory Moore's name (came up as) a person of interest involved in that possible shooting but our victim unfortunately became extremely uncooperative with our police officers, therefore we were not able to make contact with Mr. Moore or place any charges on him related to the possible shooting," said Lauderhill Police Lt. Greg Solowsky

Solowsky said that several hours later on Sunday police were called to the scene of a disturbance in the city. However, once they arrived at the home, Solowsky said, the victim in that case was also uncooperative. Police, however, found Moore sleeping on a bed with a .38 caliber handgun on him with spent cartridges inside.

"The minute he made eye contact with the police officers that were standing in the bedroom he quickly threw his hands up and said I don't want any difficulty," Solowsky said. "There was no struggle involved."

Solowsky said after his arrest, Moore was given a bond and walked out of jail.

"This is the bond process and the legal system that the officers are sworn to uphold," he said.

During the manhunt on Tuesday, the ramps to I-95 from Broward Boulevard were shut down for hours. Also, closed during the investigation was northbound I-95 at Ives Dairy Road.

The closures and jams added lots of frustration for drivers on the interstate and surrounding roads.
"I was stuck for three hours, couldn't go anywhere," said one driver.

Broward schools were on lockdown much of the day but dismissal wasn't affected.

Still the search for Moore goes on who also has a criminal history in Broward dating back to 1997.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
