Thieves Caught On Camera, Return Stolen Surfboard

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) - A man caught on camera stealing a surfboard from a Pembroke Pines gas station has returned it, according to the store owner.
The owner, Walter Delgado, said the man brought back the board on Friday. They plan on paying it forward an auctioning off the board for a good cause.
But before the man returned the board, cameras caught him in the act.
Cameras rolled as a hoodie wearing thief swiping a surfboard from the gas station on Wednesday around midnight.
Video shows two males, who both look to be in their early 20s, enter the Sunoco store at 21250 Sheridan Street and then split up.

The one wearing a yellow and green hoodie walks to the back of a store and around a display case where the surfboard was located. He carefully removes it and walks toward the front of the store as his suspected partner in crime in a red hoodie and dark pants acts as a look out.
On his way to the front of the store, the one with surfboard pauses near a refrigerated drink case and ducks down slightly. The one in the red hoodie then runs out of the store with the one carrying the surfboard right on his heals.
Walter Delgado, who owns the gas station, said the board is worth about $600. Delgado had said if the board was returned, he would pay it forward.
"It's a good opportunity for them to rethink what they did, return the board. We are not going to press charges," Delgado said.
The plan is to auction off the returned board and give the proceeds to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

But that's not all he had said he would do.
"We'll match it dollar for dollar. These children really need our help," said Delgado.
