Woman Run Over During Argument In Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Broward Sheriff's deputies are searching for a driver they said ran over and killed a woman on Saturday evening.

It all happened just after 6:00 p.m. at the parking lot at Rocky's Food Store at 800 Hammondville Road.

Deputies said a man in a Dodge pick-up truck got into an argument with a woman.

In the midst of the heated argument, the driver put the car into drive, drove forward and the woman fell to the ground.

The driver then backed up the vehicle up over her, then put the vehicle in drive and drove over her a second time then sped off.

Emergency crews rushed the woman to Broward Health North Hospital where she later died.

The victim's cousin, Shanda Davis, said the victim, a mother of three, was well known in the area and so is the suspect.

"She's cool. She don't bother nobody and she'll do anything to help you. I really don't have the words to explain it and I know that a lot of people know what happened and I know they know the person and someone needs to man up and turn the guy in," said Davis.
