MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A northwest Miami-Dade man accused of killing his wife has been returned to Florida.

Donald Strange, 59, who reportedly shot his wife in front of their children earlier this month, was picked up in Georgia. On Monday he was flown back to Miami-Dade. Strange is charged with second degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.

Investigators said Strange got into an argument with his wife Hazel Strange, at their home at 5315 NW 30th Place, on November 4th. As the fight escalated, police say Strange shot his wife.

The couple's 11-year old and 13-year-old children witnessed the shooting. The 11-year old called 911 after Strange fled in his 2010 maroon Honda Accord.

The following day, Cook County Sheriff's deputies arrested Strange at a family member's residence in Georgia.

The Department of Children and Families said they did have "a history" with the couple.

Strange's two children are living with their mother's sister and her husband.
