MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Some south Miami-Dade residents who live near the Turkey Point nuclear power plant may have been a bit unnerved Monday morning when they woke to the sound of an emergency siren.

There was, however, no emergency.

A county emergency siren in the area of SW 132nd Avenue and SW 232nd Street malfunctioned. FPL worked with the county's emergency planning department to get it fixed.

FPL said the siren was not on the Turkey Point site, but about 10 miles from it.
