According to his arrest report,  Parasram got into a verbal altercation with his elderly neighbors, Robert Henning and Lesley VanBacker,  over a hibiscus tree that had been cut down.

They had planted the tree and suspected Parasram had cut it down which triggered the altercation that escalated. That's when Henning and VanBacker, according to the report, turned away from him to walk away.

Parasram reacted to that by stabbing Henning in the right calf, causing a puncture wound.

"You retrieved a pitch fork and allegedly chased your neighbors down and stabbing one of your neighbors in the leg with a pitch fork," Broward Magistrate Judge John Hurley read from the police report.

Henning was treated by rescue crews at the scene.

Once police arrived, they said they found two pitchforks in Parasram's home and took them away as evidence.

Henning and VanBacker decided to press charges.

Parasram is facing one charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older and assault  on a person 65 years of age or older.

The judge noted in court that Parasram had previous arrests for assault and battery. With that, he ordered that Parasram had to stay at least 500 feet from his neighbors and his condo building.

"Sir, he can't go home?" asked the public defender.

" No," said Judge Hurley.

"They're next door neighbors,  he's going to have to stay somewhere else," the judge said.

"I have nowhere to stay," pleaded Parasram.

"That's the downside of going after your neighbor with a pitch fork," scolded the judge, "that's the downside!"

His bond is set at $13,500.
