Turnpike Ramps At Pines Blvd Closed This Weekend

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Drivers on Florida's Turnpike won't be able to exit at Hollywood/Pines Boulevard this weekend.

The northbound and southbound Turnpike exit ramps will be closed 9 p.m. Friday, November 7th through 5 a.m. Monday, November 10th. The southbound SunPass-only exit ramp to westbound Pines Boulevard will remain open.

Drivers can exit at Griffin Road, then go east to U.S. 441 and then south to Hollywood Boulevard.

The ramp closures are needed for removal of concrete barrier wall and had been initially scheduled for the weekend of October 31st.

The work is part of a project to convert the Hollywood/Pines Boulevard and Griffin Road interchanges to all-electronic tolling. Construction is anticipated to continue through late 2016.
