Coin Heist Nets More Than $50K For Thieves In Sarasota

SARASOTA (CBSMiami/AP) — A major coin heist is under investigation in Sarasota after four people are believed to be involved in the theft of more than of more than $50,000 in rare coins.
Officials say the 150 coins were stolen from the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium during a coin show on Saturday. The coins are from around the globe and some date back to the early 1800s.
Surveillance video from inside the auditorium shows four men walking to a table and one taking multiple gold coins off a table.
The coins are valued at between $50,000 and $100,000.
