MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) --  Rescue crews airlifted a teen to the hospital after he was shot in Miami Gardens on Sunday evening.

It all happened at 21030 NW 39th Avenue.

Miami Gardens Police said the injured teen is 15-years old.

Crews took the teen to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. No word on his condition.

Chekevia Harris knows the victims and said she heard the shots.

"I heard the gun shots and I came out the door... I got in my car. I went around the block and I seen the little boy on the ground and he was balled up so what I did is I got on my knees and I went all the way on the floor and I went to grab his hands and all I could do was pray and call on Jesus' name," said Harris.

It is unclear if police are looking for a gunman.
