Jurors Shown Evidence In Coral Springs Murder Case

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Surveillance footage shown to jurors in the Munawar Toha murder trial purportedly shows the suspect dump the victim's body and car into a lake before leaving on his bicycle.
The 67-year old is on trial for the March 2010 murder of his wife, 41-year-old Surya Sari-Prihatin.

On Wednesday the jury saw video of Toha at an April 2010 news conference pleading with his wife to return. "Your children miss you," he said. "Please come home."
Prosecutors said the news conference was a sham and Toha knew exactly where his wife was because he hid her body at the bottom of a lake.
Prosecutors followed up with a new surveillance video – from the same day Sari-Prihatin disappeared – which showed a person step out of Sari-Prihatin's car, guide it into the water and leave on a bicycle.
Coincidentally, the 30-foot lake is behind Toha's place of employment on the 4100 block of Powerline Road.
The grainy footage never gives a clear image of the person, but two witnesses – a husband and wife – testified that Toha showed up at their home sometime later on a bicycle.
Also on Thursday, the jury watched as a crime scene tech opened up a sealed envelope that contained a large heavy flashlight. Prosecutors said the flashlight is the probable murder weapon used to smash Sari-Prihatin's skull.
The medical examiner testified there were five gashes on the Sari-Prihatin's head.
Toha is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence after he was convicted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder – he tried hiring a hit man to kill four witnesses in the murder case.
