Hurricanes Lose Goudis, Regula For Remainder Of Season

CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami/AP) — The 2014 season has been a struggle for the Miami Hurricanes and the team received news on Wednesday night that will make things a bit more difficult.

Miami has lost kicker Matt Goudis and long snapper Ronald Regula for the remainder of the season because of injuries.

Goudis played two games this season before being sidelined with a back injury.

Regula suffered a right leg injury in the final minutes of last week's win over Cincinnati.

Hurricanes coach Al Golden says both players will require surgery.

Goudis was replaced by Michael Badgley after he was hurt. Frank Gabriel, the team's short snapper, will likely replace Regula.

Miami (4-3) is off until visiting Virginia Tech on Oct. 23.
