MIAMI (CBSMiami) - After a two week stretch of summer like temperatures, South Floridians were greeted with a cool, comfortable change Thursday morning.

A cold front cleared the state and with its passage came "fall-like" weather. This cold front pushed the hot, humid, and at times, stormy conditions out to be replaced with a much more comfortable air mass and noticeably drier and much more comfortable air.

Thursday morning temperatures were in the low 70s near the coast and the upper 60s for some inland locations. Highs will climb to the low to mid 80s with plenty of sunshine.

Thursday night will be even cooler. Overnight low temperatures could drop into the low to mid 60s across interior sections and the metro area by Friday morning. Coastal communities should expect the upper 60s. Some inland areas may even fall to the upper 50s by Friday morning.

Friday afternoon we'll enjoy bright sunshine with pleasant high temperatures in the low 80s.

Our normal high for this time of year is 86 degrees - and normal low 74

Cool nights continue through the weekend with lows in the upper 60s and highs in the mid 80s. With high pressure in control, low humidity and dry conditions, this weekend may mark the end of our rainy season.

So for now, we can say good-bye to the stifling summer-like weather and hello to South Florida's version of fall like weather. Enjoy, the outdoors are calling us all!
