Police Catch Suspected Gables Flasher

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - With the public's help, Coral Gables police have arrested a man they say exposed himself to a woman sunbathing outside her home.

Antonio Rodriguez, 40, has been charged with unarmed burglary of an occupied structure and one count of indecent exposure.

On Friday October 3rd, a Coral Gables resident told police she was sunbathing in her backyard near the 200 Block of Mendoza Avenue when a man approached her at around 10:50 a.m.

The woman said the man exposed his genitals and stimulated himself in front of her. He fled shortly after, but the woman said she didn't see what direction he went in.

Police said he covered his face with a t-shirt and do not believe he knew the woman.

Security footage in the neighborhood captured the man before the incident walking by an apartment building at nearby 221 Zamora Avenue and fleeing the area afterwards.

As a precaution, police went door to door passing out flyers on Monday, October 13th.

"I work here and I live down the street," said Coral Gables resident Kim Hernandez. "This concerns me greatly. One thing could lead to another. First it starts off as indecent exposure and could lead to any inappropriate actions."

Neighbor Michele Breaux said, "It's all a little unsettling."

Investigators are now looking into whether Rodriguez can be linked to any other crimes committed in the city of Coral Gables.
