Coast Guard Officer Faces Court Martial In Key West

KEY WEST (AP) — A U.S. Coast Guard petty officer accused of accosting a couple of tourists in Key West will face a court martial proceeding on Monday.

Petty Officer Michael Gold, 40, groping a woman and then assaulting her husband outside a bar last year.

Gold specifically faces charges of abusive sexual contact, assault and drunk and disorderly conduct.

The court-martial is being held at federal court in Key West.

Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, punishments could include a year in confinement, pay forfeiture or a bad conduct discharge.
