Dolphins' Derrick Shelby Arrested In Fort Lauderdale
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby was arrested Saturday in Fort Lauderdale.
According to court records, Shelby was charged with trespassing and resisting an officer without violence. He has since been released on $100 bond.

According to Fort Lauderdale Police, Shelby was arrested around 2 a.m. Saturday at Off The Hookah after refusing security and police officers asking him to leave the establishment.
"I really think he made a mistake," said Will Venant, a season ticket holder. "I mean, you know, a young kid, having fun and probably had too much to drink and made a mistake. I think he'll learn learn from things. Hopefully, he will learn from this and next time do better."
The Dolphins released the following statement regarding Shelby's arrest: "We are aware of the reports regarding Derrick Shelby and are in the process of gathering information."
Shelby is not known as a troublemaker and has had no legal issues during his pro career.
Joining the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie in 2012, Shelby has become a steady contributor on Miami's defensive line. He recorded two sacks in the Dolphins Week 4 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
