Woman Steals Gucci Shoes, Rolex & Cash

BAL HARBOUR (CBSMiami) - A Bal Habour man said a high-class con artist duped a him out of thousands of dollars worth of property after he fell asleep.

Security footage from the man's apartment building, released by Bal Harbour police, showed a woman carrying several items in her hands. The woman was holding so many things she decided to slip on a pair of size 11 Gucci loafers. Shoes that clearly didn't belong to her

The loafers were taken from a man who fell asleep in his apartment, according to police.

"You'd be surprised how often it occurs," Bal Harbour Police Chief Mark Overton said.

The man said he met the scammer at LIV nightclub on South Beach in early September and he brought her back to his apartment.

"They basically brought the party home with them and the next day he wakes up and he's been victimized," Overton said.

The man told police he fell asleep sometime around 4 a.m. and authorities believe that is when she slipped out.

Besides the expensive footwear, the woman reportedly took a Rolex watch and 2,000 in cash. Detectives said the total amount stolen equals $16,000.

"Be careful who you bring home with you and how much access you give them to your house," Overton advises.
