Miami School Put On High Alert Following Yik Yak Shooting Threat
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - An anonymous social media app put a school on high alert after a shooting threat was posted Wednesday night.
Johnson and Wales University, located on 1701 NE 127th Street, beefed up its security Thursday after a shooting threat was posted on Yik Yak, one school official said.

According to the message, the shooting was going to occur at noon on Thursday in the school's dining hall.
Campus Safety & Security contacted North Miami Police immediately to investigate the credibility of this threat.
School was not cancelled, but North Miami police patrolled the area for added security while investigating the issue.
Some students couldn't believe school was not cancelled, while others are condemning the app's stupidity.

Nothing transpired from the threat, but police are still looking for the person who posted the message.
