Soggy First Day Of Fall

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Plenty of rainfall kicked off the first full day of Fall across South Florida.

A Flood Advisory was issued until noon for northeast Miami-Dade because more than two inches of rain had fallen in spots. Locations that may experience minor flooding over the course of the day include Miami, Coral Gables and neighborhoods around Marlins Park.

Avoid driving through waters of unknown depth.

We'll continue to see storms on and off again throughout the day due to a very moist, unstable atmosphere with a stalled frontal boundary draped across North Florida. With an easterly breeze at the surface and a southwesterly steering flow aloft, convergence will help squeeze out the deep tropical moisture that will lead to downpours and more flooding at times.

We'll see the potential for more lightning, gusty winds and water spouts.

The moisture sticks around through tomorrow and likely through Thursday keeping the wet weather pattern in place.

Breezy storms will be possible through late week with highs struggling to reach the upper 80s due to the clouds and rain around. This weekend once the deepest moisture begins to push away, the rain chance will start to decrease a bit.
