Miami Beach Coast Guard Officer Faces Court Martial Proceeding
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) - A Coast Guard officer accused of sexually assaulting a woman is scheduled to face a General Court Martial Tuesday at the Coast Guard base on Miami Beach.
Officer Tyler Banks, 30, is charged with two specifications of sexual assault stemming from a 2013 incident in his Miami area residence, according to the Coast Guard. The two charges are violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 120.
Banks is also accused of making official false statements, a violation of Article 107.
