Police: Disturbing Discovery Leads To Re-Arrest Of Retired Cop
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A retired Miami Police Officer out on bond for federal porn charges is back behind bars after investigators said they made a disturbing discovery.
According to our news partners the Miami Herald, Juan Roman, 57, nicknamed himself "Batman" and downloaded hundreds of videos depicting child pornography.
He is now accused of molesting a little girl which led him to be arrested Saturday on various charges including lewd and lascivious molestation of a child.
Detectives said they found computer files this week allegedly showing him molesting a girl who appears to be 5-years old. Court documents state he set up a hidden camera inside his bathroom and filmed himself molesting the child.
He is also charged with video voyeurism.
Federal authorities had arrested him in August on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Roman has been retired for five years. Before that, he worked as a detective and spotter aboard the department's helicopter.
