No Bond For Woman Accused Of Setting Fire To Miami Beach Building
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- An alleged arsonist who Miami Beach Police say started a fire at a Miami Beach building that displaced 60 residents and injured one, faced a judge Sunday.
Two days after she was arrested a judge ordered 30-year old Mindrey Delgado to be held on no bond on attempted second degree murder charge.
Delgado is also charged with 1st degree arson and arson without great bodily harm.
Investigators said Delgado confessed to her role in Friday's fire located at 2814 Collins Avenue. Authorities said they interviewed various residents which led to leads and later to her arrest.
On Saturday, Chief Daniel Oates released a statement about the arrest saying, "The residents can be reassured that with this person in custody, there is no longer a danger to the community."
According to Delgado's arrest report, she told police she was trying to get her boyfriend's attention because he stayed in one of the apartments from time to time.

Delgado faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, second-degree arson, bodily harm and first-degree arson.
As for the man injured, he suffered second degree burns and was rushed to the hospital. No official word on his condition but one of the residents said remains in the hospital.

The 60 displaced building residents are staying in hotel provided by the Red Cross but that arrangement only lasts until Tuesday.
