Tiger Woods Foundation Hosts STEM Conference

JUPITER (CBSMiami/AP) — More than 300 parents and students are expected to attend a one-day career and college conference hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation.

The free conference is focused on careers in science, technology, engineering and math — or STEM— and is open to students in grades seven through 12. It will be held at Florida Atlantic University's Jupiter campus.

Activities are geared toward introducing students to STEM curriculum. The workshops are designed for students to experience STEM careers through hands-on, interactive sessions led by local business and community leaders.

The Tiger Woods Foundation utilizes STEM-focused curriculum at its seven Tiger Woods Learning Centers nationwide.

The foundation's learning center campus model at Murray Middle School in Stuart opened in September 2011 and has served more than 500 students.
